I have listened to an audiobook by Taishu Kawano.
His job titles include psychiatrist, Buddhist priest, and author.
The title of the book may be translated as “Reduce in Half” in English.
I chose to listen to his audiobook, because I have so much to do, and not enough time doing all. I’d like to know how to do less.
Mr. Kawano said his work as a psychiatrist needed much cumbersome paperwork.
One day, he thought the medical office workers have knowledge and are good at creating documents, maybe he can ask them for help.
They cheerfully accepted the work and they were really good at them.
He says he has learned to trust others and share his work.
I used to think if I don’t like a certain job, the others probably don’t like it either, but it’s not true.
It’s good to know the work I regard as a heavy burden may be lighter burden to somebody else.
I can see trusting others and sharing work is the way to go.
By sharing work, we can rest and relax.
The book’s original title in Japanese is “半分、減らす”. And it’s written by Taishu Kawano (川野泰周). Publisher is 三笠書房.
